So You Think You Can Dance Music from Miami and Memphis Auditions
As always, I’m planning on listing all of the music from So You Think You Can Dance. You can see the past So You Think You Can Dance music if you’re looking for music from a previous episode. I’m just getting this list started, but I figured I’d post it up so that people can comment and add music that I might not know myself.

Has anyone been able to find the song Geo (African, feathered head-dress guy that tickled Mary’s fancy or whatever) danced to yet? I’ve been searching for it, and the most frustrating thing is that I know it from somewhere, but I can’t figure out what! Anyone else?
If anyone finds Geo Smith’s song, please post! (OMG I love that song-such a great quick paced song)
the one song playing during the megan kinney/alex wong dancers wasn’t mahna mahna ….i don’t know wat you’re talking about.
the song is Take Me On the Floor by the Veronicas
Does anyone know which song that was played in the background during the interview with Chris Carrozza? Not the song he actually danced to, but the instrumental piece that played as he talked about his dance style. It sounds like Hedwig’s Theme from the Harry Potter movies, but I can’t quite tell.
Does anyone know the music that they used between the dances – a few of the songs were really great but I couldn’t catch them. Would you be able to add a section of those pieces?
Scott,
We add them as we get them. Sometimes they’re harder to figure out since they’re usually in the background. You’ll see we have a few of them from the show, but not that many.
Same as Comment #50 Alex – song used during “guide to a good audition” rule number 2. It’s electronic. Thanks!
What was the song used in Mia Michaels dance in Vegas. I really liked that song.
amanda,
The vegas week songs are listed: https://puresytycd.com/2009/06/03/so-you-think-you-can-dance-las-vegas-week-music-episode-1/
The name of the song “Shakiro danced to is “Magalenha” by Sergio Mendes
Please tell me the artist and songname of the song that is being used in the end of each episode. The lyrics goes something like this: put “your left foot to the left, put your left foot to the right, shake it up to the twist”. Its a electronic song.
Hi fellow sytycd fans!
Judith (and I think Amanda as well…) I FOUND IT!
“standing up straight I’m ten feet tall,
I like this look I love you all.
100 feet off the ground it seems,
that a beautiful day is gracing me.”
— “Don’t Let Your Feet Touch Ground” by Ash Koley
enjoy 🙂
Does anyone know the song that was used in one the the audition episodes, it was when sonja was doing the choreography round I believe and it went something like “and all the boys ahahahaha” or something along those lines?
Samantha,
I think you’re talking about “Great DJ” by The Ting Tings. You can see the list from the choreography in Las Vegas: https://puresytycd.com/2009/06/03/so-you-think-you-can-dance-las-vegas-week-music-episode-1/
theres a song that some of the people dance to when they are in groups during vegas week. im not talk about like me or my life would suck without you, its a slower one. if you know which what im talk about please tell me the name, thankss 🙂
there was a song and i think some of the lyrics were “have i told you today im in love with loving you”. it was real slow and i think a guy was singing it…i didnt catch any other lyrics though..
Yeah the song Ryan is talking about – the lyrics went “Im in love with loving you” and it was two girls dancing together for the audition mirroring each others moves. I think they were twins? The song was amazing – id love to know who its by – Ive been googling for ever trying to find it. Im in Australia and the episode only just played here…
Desperately seeking the song used in the background just before and for part of the scene when Geo danced. It sounded like an old song rehashed, female vocals, very funky/60’s vibe with a sitar playing, one of the lines went something like this “you moved on the dance floor”… If anyone is in the know please help! BTW you are all excellent researchers! Waiting in hope that someone knows :o)
Man, this is killing me. Watched the miami/memphis audition just now and heart this awesome song playing during the choreography. Have I missed something or what is the name of that song? I have GOT to find out, otherwise this’ll bug me for the rest of my life, seriously. Sounded like John Mayer but I can’t be sure…
i know its been a while, but has anyone found geo smith’s song? still desperately seeking it cuz it was such a nice fast instrumental song.
HANNA,

….(with all the flowers (?))… and daisies in her hair,
These (something) dreams and playful kisses,
